Skateboard Tricks For Beginners

Believe me, there is much more to skateboarding than just wearing the clothes and looking like a skater. Sure, it's great to just skate casually around town, but we all know that skateboarding is about the tricks.

There is an endless supply of tricks that can be done on a skateboard. Some are relatively easy to do, and some are damn near impossible. So how should you take your skating to a new level and start doing some of these crazy skateboard tricks? Here's a bit of advice for beginner skaters...

First of all, make sure you have the right equipment. I'd recommend doing some research online and buying a board (deck) from a good skate shop like THE HOUSE instead of a local department store. You get better quality decks from skate shops, and better deals. Also, whether you like it or not, you need to wear safety gear when you skate. If you don't, you're a dumbass. I've seen one too many people get their skull cracked open while trying some stupid skateboard trick. You'll be a lot happier in the future if you just wear a damn helmet today, especially if you're a beginner or if you're trying a new trick for the first time.

Once you find a board, some skate shoes, and some safety gear, then you can start practicing your balance and learning how move on the skateboard. It might be easy for you to balance while the deck isn't moving, but that can all change once it starts rolling. Start off slow, and work your way up to faster speeds.

When you're able to comfortably roll around while standing on your skateboard, you can start checking out some local skate parks and try to learn some skateboard tricks. Try to start out learning some basic stuff like grinds and board glides. If you find someone cool at the skate park, maybe they can help you learn some stuff, or maybe you have some friends who are good skaters that can help you out. Many skate parks give lessons to beginners. Also, you can find a lot of good skateboard trick resources online.
